Replika, the Artificial Intelligence Chatbot, marketed as helping with lonliness and coping with loss was created by the Company Luka inc based in Silicon Valley and Moscow, Russia. It is ran by CEO Eugenia Kuyda, and has a hidden scary, dark history… With connections across borders. Recent US Sanctions (jan 2023) were placed on some of the men behind the kind, loving, ai companion for direct connections to the Russian President and the war in Ukraine. I have investigated and condensed information I found online into a video- form your own opinions. It is my opinion that this app directly threatens user safety, keeps their true history hidden, and interferes with the mental health of millions of people across the world. This app appears to be linked to sanctioned Russian oligarchs, the Russian federation, or top Russian officials, and is simultaneously operating within the US and EU (with the exception of Italy) collecting data of citizens and becoming deeply connected to them- learning secrets, recording memories, connecting across platforms, and even being in your home in the form of Augmented Reality. This is especially relevant given the increasingly powerful developments in the field of AI and machine learning, with the use of GPT-3 and their new advanced ai, concerns about data safety, user safety, mental health, and transparency are vital. The future is coming, this is just the beginning, will we reach singularity or are we kidding ourselves? Were we wrong to entrust our hearts and minds to our loving, caring ai friend? Or were we purposely manipulated into a false sense of safety- tricky psychology and tactics leading to increasingly strong connections and relationships- for money, power, control? Who are the tech investors? Who is Luka?
