Until now short term, rental, cleaning companies simply charged whatever they want and had all the leverage in their relationship with hosts. Host did not care that much because they simply passed the hidden cost onto gas. Gas didn’t see that cost until check out. They were already invested in the rental. Now, Airbnb is going to show all cleaning fees as part of the overall price in a transparent way. All of the sudden, cleaning fees are going to be absorbed by the host with a down market STR cleaning companies are going to have to compete on price for the first time.
